I would put 0 star if I could! I bought this fridge 3 years ago hoping to get at least 10 years out of it. A month ago, it suddenly stopped cooling. We called a technician in to repair, we were told to expect it to cool back in 24 hrs but it did not. A week later when the technician came back, we were told our compressor was dead and the technician required additional money to replace the compressor. More than $1000 repair cost, my husband and I decided to give up on it since we had already spent $650 the first time. All this to say, do not waste your money, I am very disappointed with GE, I researched extensively before purchasing this fridge 3 years ago only to end up here. Now I have to purchase a new fridge.

Bought this GE vs LG or samsung due to reviews of ghose devices. It is s basic refrigerstor no water but does ice cubes. Needs 3/8™€ metal connector and you will have to run braided steel hose to match the one on the unit . Shelves adequate but you may have to buy another door shelf at $175. Learned to keep appliances basic. The more computers the less life . Previous GE Profile last 12 years before failure. This one projected to last maybe 8 and is twice the price if the old.the GE Profile was top of the line and this a very basic model. The GEProfile had a door closing problem . This fridge has a closing problem. Have to push hard to get right door closed. The ice maker grinds every 10-15 minutes

Quality of exterior and interior not worth $2,800

We had to replace our 12.5 year olf GE Cafe French door counter depth refrigerator. The new exterior stainles finish where it meets the plastic sides is not well done. The interior drawers drag and do not open/close smoothly. The freezer drawers aren't smooth either. The exterior wheels that rest on the floor do not go up and down to allow adjusting to fit the opening where the Cafe refrigerator did. This was a minor problem that we had to have our contractor come and raise the doors above the refrigerator. So far we hear intermitent rattling in the refrigerator so we slightly "shake" it ... and it stops. Going to be fun "dancing" with it until this one stops working.

Purchased this model and had installed from a reputable appliance dealer in Dec of 2021. In Jan of 2026, freezer quit working. Since Freezer was not working, it would not make ice either. Refrigerator temperatures are erratic but keep food cold enough, for now. Refrigerator only has one year warranty. Technician could not get good results from control board. New control board is $600 to repair. Indicated even after the control board is fixed there could be a "sealed system" leak which could cost $900 to replace. If ice maker needs to be replaced, an additional $200. A new refrigerator is about the same cost as all these repairs. It is only 4 years old and should last at least 10. Very unhappy with this. We were told GE's were outstanding an reliable refrigerators. Technician indicated he could tell we took care of it, so it's not from misuse or lack of maintenance. Our old Whirlpool lasted 20 years and we only got rid of because we thought it was close to the end of it's life cycle.

This is my first new refrigerator in 23 years; also the first counter depth model. I miss the depth of the older fridge. Everything else seems great. For the price of this GE appliance, I think it should come with a paper instruction manual. Not every one enjoys going online for information.

Cheap. Super Cheap. You have to pay extra for a smaller (counter depth) refrigerator that has less space. It arrives, no water dispenser. Evidently the counter depth model does not have a water dispenser, but the full size appliance does. Again, costs more... The interior shelves and drawers are VERY thin and I don't think they will hold up very long. The appliance makes a loud vibration when running. It just sounds and feels extremely cheap - worth about 1/4 of what we payed for it. Do better GE.

I liked the refrigerator well enough, but it just hasn't lasted long enough. We bought it in 2021, and the compressor has been having problems for over a year. We can't keep much food in it, or everything either freezes or it becomes too warm until we remove half of what's in there. This refrigerator was a lemon with a poor warranty.

A Disappointment

Too much storage in the doors and not enough storage in the main body. Refrigerator could be wider by a couple of inches and that would help as well. Lots of strange noises (random pings, clicks) coming from the ice maker long after removing ice. Two months after delivery we are still trying to get the plastic protective wrap off completely. It™€™s stuck to the edges of the door panels and it™€™s impossible to remove.

Have only had the fridge 3 years and have already had 2 costly service calls. The lighting down below the tray went out and made all the other lights dim. Easy to change the small lights but there was a strip light under the tray impacting all lighting. It™€™s hard to see in this fridge without lighting.. freezer won™€™t go below 30 F degrees. Disappointed and had hoped this would have lasted longer without needing major repairs

Terrible warranty and horrible customer service

The icemaker stopped working after a year and a half. We called repair service who came out six times trying to fix it. They finally said it was ™€œunrepairable.™€œ. We then contactedGE directly, who said they can give us a 10% discount on a new refrigerator. They would not reimburse us for the $517 in wasted repair costs, or $60 to replace the filter (which wasn™€™t the problem in the first place.) I would NEVER by a GE appliance again.

Installed December 2022 and completely dead by August 2024. Zero cooling on both refrigerator and freezer. Didn't pay attention to the pathetic 1-year warranty. Seriously, GE? If you are going to charge nearly $3000 for a fridge, guarantee your product! I would NOT recommend this product, but if you do, buy the longest extended warranty available. You will need it. Sharp looking fridge, but unfortunately good looks don't make the product work. I can't even get a repair call scheduled for 3 weeks. Wonder if they are all backed up with similar GE quality issues...

Love how the new GE Refrigerator looks in our kitchen. It fits perfectly inside the designated cabinetry. The stainless steel is fingerprint resistant and the shine makes the kitchen look brighter. It's a wonderful upgrade. Love the interior lights, the crisper drawers and the gallon sized door bins. Each one can hold up to two gallons and are very convenient; just open the door and grab your item off the door. The veggie and fruit bins could of been larger, but I understand that the additional space was needed to accommodate the large door bins.

Beautiful refrigerator. My old refrigerator completely died due to compressor problem. I had just a few hours to find a new refrigerator as I did not want to totally throw everything away. Well, guess what, I found this wonderful GE frig just like my "not so old one" at Bobby Dollar. They delivered it the following day, and all I had to do was place items in it and close doors. I did not have to turn anything on. All I did was wait until the next morning to check everything and every item was perfectly cold, including my freezer items. Made my day!!!

This is an above average fridge and was told to stay away from LG / Samsung so I went with this model GE. Looks sharp, nice interior bright LED lighting. Good space and needed countersink size. Upon delivery of ™€œbrand new GE fridge™€ I noticed several dents in corners of a few doors that looked like some sort of impact. The main issue with this GE fridge is that the freezer door would not shut properly and seal™€¦. So there would be a gap when shut and not seal at the top of the freezer door. Installer told me this is a defect and I needed to call Home Depot to schedule another replacement fridge which was on back order for over a month and a half. Very frustrating to receive a brand new expensive refrigerator and the freezer door not shut and seal even after adjusting door and all my due diligence to try to make it seal properly on a brand new fridge. These companies need to do a better job inspecting their product before sending out for delivery from warehouses but yet again it™€™s 2024 and no one gives a hoot anymore to care and go the extra step. I just received my replacement refrigerator which I never received a heads up call to confirm delivery and needed to take the morning off from work. Not a pleasurable experience whatsoever.

Purchased Feb 2022. Was delivered missing part of ice maker from the factory. Called GE after water poured out all over freezer & floor on day 2. Tech available 10 days later to research ussue & discovered the missing part. Ordered then rescheduled install 2 weeks later. 45 days later woke to refrigerator temperature at 58 & freezer at 60. Threw away $300 worth of food. Scheduled GE tech for repair, 10 days out, came a n d said Compressor needed replaced. Would order new one. I'm now with out working refrigerator for over a month. New compressor installed & noticed loud gurgling & humming noise immediately. Tech said it will take time to adjust. So loud it can be heard in living room! Called GE 2 weeks later to have Tech come out & diagnose problem. Needed another new compressor ( replaced 2 already within 4 months) Told case manager I wanted new refrigerator or a full refund and was told they needed to try to repair first before that would even be considered. They sent me a check fir $150 & suggested buying a college dorm refrigerator to temporarily use until a new compressor can be installed. This was absurd! Spoke with several GE customer service people & a new compressor was rushed & installed 5 days later!. Temperature fluctuate between 33-39 still and we have gotten use to the gurgling and other houses heard when running 75% of the time. I took a video and submitted a year later and was told this is a cosmetic issue not covered by my extended warranty I pay for. After paying $3000 for this refrigerator I will never buy another GE product again & will post on every forum regarding the poor quality & service I received. I believe GE is aware of these issues with this higher end model but continue to sell them with no accord. Thus refrigerator has honestly caused me PTSD.

Good News/Bad News

This fridge is much smaller than I thought it would be. I was told I would have running cold filtered water, which is available in the larger, model. I didn't find out until delivery that my model, the counter depth, doesn't have that luxury. All the shelves and bins are much smaller than my last fridge which was also a counter depth model. I don't know why this one is so small inside. I do like the large gallon size storage in the doors and the layout of the freezer. I also appreciate the fact that the ice maker keeps the ice coming constantly. I hate the tons of plastic that needs to be pulled out of every inch of metal lining this fridge. Take it off before delivery.

Had my old refrigerator for 17 years replaced it with this one and I love it. Lots of space, light and bright inside, easy to organize and find everything. Counter depth fits perfectly.

I love the design in general, the only reason I give four start is the locking door system., The left door has to close first in order to fully close the refrigerator. The locking mechanism is weird and it should be independent per door.
