polymerized oil won't come off the 'EZ Wash Tray"

I did a twice baked potato recipe that called for olive oil on potatoes and potatoes directly on the rack. The baked on oil on the tray would only come out if i scraped it with my finger nail, and then only partially. Had to use the oven again and the stuff wouldn't come off at all, even sitting with Dawn. No sponge, scrub, etc worked. Now the surface is full of pinholes and smoke stunk up my house on preheat.
