Some issues: The ice holder (actual part where the ice is deposited after being created) is quite cheap in quality. When opening it to access the on/off switch I have concern that it will break soon given the lack of quality. The refrigerator layout is beyond lame! The shelves are not adjustable which is a very important feature. I know this isn't a top quality unit but looks more like an after thought on the part of Maytag.

Simpler Is Better, I Hope

First of all, I must say that the appliance repair person stated that side-by-side Maytag refrigerators are the least frequently malfunctioning refrigerators in her 30+ years of experience. She rarely receives a call to repair a Maytag. Ergo, my choice. She also pointed out that the more complex an appliance is, the more likelihood that something with malfunction; so, I chose a simpler design than my refrigerator that died. I like the size of this new refrigerator, and I am hoping the 10-year warranty means it will last longer than the top-of-the line but problem-ridden/multiple-class-action-lawsuits LG it is replacing, but I was expecting a better quality interior, specifically the shelves and drawers. The shelves are completely non-adjustable, and the drawers are cheap plastic. The top four shelves are illuminated by only one light, which is located in the top right corner, leaving the lower shelves quite dark since the second shelf is metal. This is the first "sight-unseen" refrigerator that I have purchased, and I knew I was choosing a less expensive appliance (it is replacing a french door/bottom drawer freezer model), but I wish I would have examined the pictures and description details more carefully. However, I am willing to accept the tradeoff if this refrigerator lasts for more years than the last two (both from LG, both less that 10 years). Bottom line--I will only know how satisfied I really am after many years of functional refrigeration.

I bought this *-2025 over all its a good product only thing i wish i would of checked before i chose this Side by Side was the Ice deposit section is about a 1/2 or a 1/4 to low for my glass to receive ice it has to be tilted to receive ice. that's why i rate it a 4 star.

This is the first negative review I have ever written. My refrigerator/freezer is only 5 years old. For the past year, my ice maker has not worked because the water line keeps freezing. After multiple costly service calls, my appliance tech ™€“ who spoke with Maytag support ™€“ said I needed to replace the circuit board. Three days after he replaced the board, the ice maker stopped working AGAIN! I have spent so much money on repairs, I am seriously considering just buying a new refrigerator/freezer. And it won™€™t be a Maytag!

This unit has been working and correctly keeping temperatures where they need to be. My only issue is that it makes noises that aren't usually typical of a refrigerator/freezer. There are points that you can silence them by holding different areas of this unit inside and outside that will silence these when holding them. Haven't figured out a way to get this done without holding these areas.

The refrigerator door is tweaked. It is nosier than our 14 year old Maytag it replaced. I don™€™t like that the ice cube dispenser display stays on instead of going into sleep mode. Do not like how the refrigerator stops running when you open the doors. Expected a lot more for a $1700 refrigerator.

We got our fridge two weeks ago to replace our old side by side and I™€™m hoping I get used to it. I like the freezer side of the unit but am not enamored with the fridge side. I wish it had pull out shelves and that the door didn™€™t swing out and feel like it™€™s got enough velocity to break off. I have to hold the door with my foot. The in the door shelves also feel very fragile and I hope they hold up. We bought these online and did not get the chance to see these features first. Glad for the Maytag name and service reputation.

First of all. I have to do this twice because this form is garbage. American engineering. Which is why i deducted another star. The actual refrigerator review is as follows. I want to love the refrigerator. Its a great one. But poor american craftsmanship is all over. The Doors do not close properly because the strips on doors do not match(picture). The plastic was built into the refrigerator. Removing it leaves frays of plastic that cant be removed without a razor. The door also sags under weight so the doors do not align. If you dont care its fine, but for anyone with OCD - its hideous. The shelves are not configurable and only the very top shelf fits a large pot of soup which looks - IFFY. I do love how easy the water filter access is, and the stainless steel shelf. But its typical loose, wobbly, American craftmanship. Oh and I cant add photos. And this form doesnt open in Chrime. Like WTF.

Before the manufacturer warranty even expired our ice maker stopped working, Had a service tech come and he replaced a hose. Started experiencing the same problems, Ice maker not making ice. Fortunately for me I purchased the extended service plan. the next two repairs were repaired under this service plan. the last repair my whole freezer door with the ice maker was replaced. This soon stopped making ice. Unfortunately for me it was after the service plan expired. I feel this problem has to be common for this refrigerator. Now if I want to have the icemaker make ice I have to unplug the refrigerator for 4 hours, turn it back on and if it doesn't start making ice I have to let the refrigerator Run overnight and repeat the process the next day. In the mean time I have to make trays of ice in order to have ice for use

I love my new refrigerator. We had an old refrigerator. I think it was a 1972 model. The ice maker/dispenser was broken and it was 5 Cubic feet smaller. This Maytag refrigerator has the ice dispenser in the door freeing up more space in the fresh food section. It also has more light behind the shelves.

Replaced our fridge with this Maytag, and had high expectations. Fridge is made cheaply, with several problems, including the crisper bins, freezer shelves and water / ice dispenser. Crisper shelves don't stay in place, are not straight and no fix for them. Fridge also does not have a door alarm, which should be on every fridge.

Lackluster Refrigerator

My experience so far has been that I am grateful it is still running. I am sure glad I purchased the extended warranty on this refrigerator. I the 3 years of ownership the icemaker and dispenser has been serviced 5 different times. everything from not dispensing ice, not making ice, and getting jammed up. The ability to switch from crushed to cubed ice causes the dispenser to jam up and has not worked well since day one. The technician said that the poor insulation in the door caused the ice to get to warm and refreeze which caused the jamming problems. He tried to reseal the door and this has helped somewhat. The pull-out drawers have been problematic. The drawer handles have cracked, and one handle partially broke off. Found out that the warranty does not cover replacing the drawers after the first year. Just cheap construction. Then at the 2 year time frame the big reason for my mediocre review occurred, the compressor went out and I lost all the food in the refrigerator and freezer. And finally, the led light pod went out in the freezer, so I had to use a flashlight to find items in the freezer.

The Maytag side-by-side refrigerator is serving us very well. It's much quieter than the previous unit, but the interior storage capacity seems less. This I believe is simply due to the different brand designs. My husband is happy so that's what counts.

A Little Noisy

It is generally doing okay. It is a little noisier than expected. I also ordered this without seeing a live model, and I find the design of the lower hinge on the front door strange. There is a gap there which shows the tubing, but its nothing I can't live with.

This is terribly loud. We hear it running throughout our house. I have requested a replacement which should be coming in another two weeks. Hopefully, that one will not have the same problem.

CANNOT RECOMMEND MAYTAG TO REFRIGERATOR-SHOPPERS

When operating, this unit is EXTREMELY LOUD! The SHELVING is SLOPPY...not fitting well. Unit freezer-front- door-panel has a "compression" area (not originally noticed when delivered)... noticeable with right light-angle. The interior water line coil position is POORLY PLANNED. The coil does not allow for solid drawer closure. The Defroster didn't work at all when first delivered (according to Service Man). Was without proper refrigeration for seven days because the freezer compartment was not defrosting at all and ice plugged up everything.

Awful Product and Customer Service

Don™€™t buy this refrigerator and think twice about ordering from Maytag.com unless you have all day to sit on the phone to hound them for help if something goes wrong. I bought this refrigerator to replace an old Maytag that came with the house. It was awful. I would give it a 0 if I could. I suspect this was a faulty product because it was ridiculously noisy, so much so that it woke me up at night the first night we had it. In addition to being loud, it ran about 90% of the time. I called the following day to have the refrigerator returned. I might have rated the whole experience higher but the poor service I got from Maytag customer service was just as awful. The first call to return nothing happened. I called the following week and said it was waiting to be approved. I called a week later and it was ™€œescalated™€. Now, two weeks later, an unusable refrigerator is still sitting in my kitchen. The wait times to speak to someone is a joke. Twice I waited so long that once someone finally answered the call, I was disconnected because it was after hours by the time the call was transferred. Overall, this was a poor product and a worse customer experience. I am going to incur extra charges (from having flooring done) because someone at Maytag dropped the ball and no one seems to be able to help. I would not order from Maytag.com again nor would I recommend my family or friends to do so.

Quiet and roomy

Great u it. I have one concern. Every time I open a door the motor stops. About 5 seconds after I close it, it starts up again. My concern is that the lifespan of the motor could be greatly reduced because of this feature . Other than that, great refrigerator.

I ordered my appliance the first week of March, I received it 3 months later. Upon delivery my appliance was dented in multiple places. I would add pictures, but we did not take any, the delivery guy did take several pictures of the damage.

Ice maker part was broke and handles not balanced when installed. Took out of box but did not take all wrappers off or put in place.Still love the look and need to order a dish washer. Wait was very very long.

I was talked into a side by side... And I absolutely dislike it. Everything is always hidden at the back... And the freezer is super narrow and harder to find food than the frig part. But aside from that, I cannot get the drawers to keep my vegetable's fresh. I must use all veggies and salad makings within 2 days. I prefer to shop once a week, so we have to go without fresh veggies 5 days of the week. I expected more from the Maytag name.

ejects ICE when it wants. ICE then drops to floor and makes puddles. Ice maker makes lot of noise . Have extended PLATINUM FACTORY SERVICE but they can't fix problem. Very unhappy with this refrigerator and service.

I replaced my old 35 year old side by side Maytag refrigerator that was not cooling on the refrigerator side by was still working perfectly on the freezer side. I love my new Maytag. It is state of the art quality construction with reliable and dependable service built in. I know I will get the same superior service from my new Maytag as I had gotten from my old Maytag. Ps. I have a pair of Maytag Atlantis washer and dryer and they are performing perfectly. I only had two minor service calls on these appliances. Enjoying my new Maytag refrigerator. Albert A Berlanga.

I bought this refrigerator on December 6, 2021 and was happy at first. The compressor was very loud, it could be heard in the next room but all seemed to be working. On December 22, 2021 I opened the freezer and everything inside was defrosted. The refrigerator stopped working - both the freezer and refrigerator were warm and the loud compressor was quiet. I lost all of the food in the freezer and some in the refrigerator. The first Maytag service I could schedule was over a week. However, Brothers Main where I purchased the refrigerator, was able to do an exchange. I now have a new refrigerator.

I am glad that I purchased our Maytag refrigerator. I love that I can have crushed ice anytime I want it! The only thing that I have a problem with is the control panel on the front of our fridge! I ended up pulling it off so I could figure out where the springs are for temperatures, lights, type of ice , . The springs are too sensitive for the way this feature was made!

My husband picked this out online and I had to go to the store to see it in person. It's a wonderful refrigerator which has many advanced features. The ice cream bin is a big hit in our family as well as the spacious and well planned freezer area. The door has your ice maker so it seems that you have a lot more room to deal with in the freezer. And having a water filter attached is God sent. We can never be too careful with our water supply. The refrigerator side is very well planned with three drawers for our cheeses and vegetables. We love to try different cheeses and usually have about five pounds or more on hand. It stays wonderfully fresh all the time. The refrigerator is also well lit with LED lighting and it's easy to see everything you have in stock. Love the industrial style door handles and the over all look of the refrigerator. I would and have recommended it to my family and friends.
