Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Do Better Whirlpool

Susan Mad 8/17/2026

I purchased this laundry center approx. 2 years ago. As of last Nov. (2025), the "Lid Lock" has been staying on. 2-different repairmen have been out to look at this. Each time, they say it is fixed. Then it comes back on randomly and therefore, I can't use the washer. After contacting Allstate/Squaretrade (this is who the warranty is with), they inform me that they will need to send out a repairman in 4 days! Ridiculous!!!

Love this machine

TKDG 8/3/2026

I love this machine so far. I like how you can pick the time u need to wash, all the different settings for water, and the cleaning cycle. I live that it doesn't have the middle part as my old machine did, and my stuff would always get stuck on it. I like how the washer beeps, letting me know when it's done and shutting off. I love that once it's done with the washer, the power shuts off and even locks so u can open and a certain point. I love that the dryer has a different time and also lets me choose the time. I usually can have the dryer done within 40-50 minutes. I live this machine is engery efficient. The old machine we had wasn't and would normally take w cycles of 50 minutes to dry. The machine was a little taller then I thought so we weren't able to put out lint bucket on top, however we just built a shelf and put out bucket on that.

Disappointed with rinse cycle and dryer door

Does the job!

Irmasue 7/18/2026

I feel this little unit lives up to it™€™s description though I didn™€™t expect the capacity to be so small as it is. For my use, it™€™s mostly sufficient but a comforter would not fit. It has enough cycles to do a basic wash & dry. The drying time is longer than expected but it does the job. I like the space saving quality. I like that I can see in the washer as it goes through cycles.

OMG - I love my new washer and dryer combo. It fits perfectly in my small space. At first, I thought the washing machine was going to be too small - but it handles loads just fine. I like that the control panel is simple. I looked at other washers and dryers, and you need a background in IT just to turn it on. I would definitely buy this combo again.

80 degrees isn't "hot"

J8560 5/16/2026

Apartment complex picked this washer/dryer combo when my 30 year old model finally couldn't be fixed. The 30 year old one was better until it died. Even after they replaced the control board, the "hot" setting on a normal cycle tops out at 80 degrees, when I know my hot water heater is set to 125 so sufficient. That's ridiculous.

New fangled

Liz 85 3/23/2026

This is my first washer with digital controls and automatic settings. It has manual options but I've had some trouble learning how to implement them. I have been used to all cold water wash and rinse which this machine apparently doesn't like as it will automatically jump to warm water wash even if I manually set it for cold water. I think I have figured out that if you opt for cold water you also have to set it for a longer wash cycle. I won't know for sure until my next laundry day.

Happily Wrong!

Nana813 3/8/2026

I recently moved into an apartment and due to layout of size I needed a laundry unit that was smaller and stacked. It was the one negative of my new place and I wasn't sure I would be happy with the results. Well, I must say this set has proved to be very efficient and works great. I must say I am thrilled with the purchase and would highly recommend to anyone considering the stacked set.

Wash Temperature Doesn't Match the Settings.

Frustrated Washer! 2/28/2026

I have been happy with the quality of Whirlpool products for many decades, but this washer has problems I didn't anticipate. Number one is the water temperature. It will not set to warm or cool, but remains very cold or very hot. No mixing of water before it hits the inside if the washer and clothes. This is not good for fabrics!

Frustrating Features

djb60 2/19/2026

The appliance works well. However, there are a few things I do not like. The washer lid has no way to prop it open while loading/unloading your laundry? Did I miss something here? This is a horrible design, and a major source of frustration to me! Cycles seem unnecessarily long? Except for the delicate cycle. The lid locks automatically while washing so that you cannot open for any reason without pausing the whole cycle, and then re-starting.

First machine the dryer was not attached well, it shook when opening the dryer door & creaked when drying The second machine was better but not as sturdy as the machine on the sales floor @ Lowe™€™s. The vinyl covering the buttons got a hole in it just by taking off the ™€œremove before using™€ sticker. Now my brand new machine has a dog sticker covering the hole. I owned the same machine for 13 years, love the size & convenience, I do love the glass lid.

Never again

Nope 2/4/2026

This unit has been issues from day one. The slow close lid slams shut the washing machine struggles agitating half the time. The pump let's off high pitched sounds when draining and now the suspension rods are failing. This is the second whirlpool product that has failed within a year so the build quality is not close to what it used to be. Also good luck getting service 3 months and still not fixed.

I'm used to having an agitator. So Im not happy that these new machines that don't have one. However so far clothes seem to Come out clean. But as they say the jury still out on it, I will see as time goes on. I'm also not happy with the fact that you cannot control how much water is used. Many times it doesn't seem to fill up as much as I would like. Also it makes an extreme amount of noise. So much so at first, I thought it might be broken, but it still seems to work. And lastly, it Doesn't spin dry enough. And some clothes I've actually ran through the spin cycle again.

Great washer/dryer combo for small spaces

Dalli013 12/21/2025

I had this washer/dryer installed at the beginning of this month and so far, it™€™s been working great. I have an old log cabin so the laundry space available is extremely limited and the size of this machine is perfect. The removal of the middle agitator is excellent for washing my sheets, I™€™m fairly certain on my old unit that component really made it harder for the motor. The dryer works great and the lint catcher is much easier to clean.
