Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Ice container difficult to get in and out Water dispenser WAY to powerful ..... ends up overflowing glass, bottle or whatever I am trying to fill ending up with water all over the place ...... VERY ANNOYING, my old fridge never did this! Shelving need better height .... can only put large containers on top shelf and HATE having to put milk in the door ..... also have to put juice in the door !!!! Fix it, it sucks. Doors to high, can no longer put my bread tray up there!!

This fridge is great, works like a charm and fits in our space. I love that it comes in black, not just white and stainless steel, hate the look of stainless steel but this looks fantastic. I like the amount of shelves and the amount of space. It™€™s got the basics, Ice maker, water dispenser, freezer™€¦makes great ice which is a must for me.

Poor design and suport

Not a Fan 7/24/2026

The shelves are not adjustable. the documentation is for multiple models and you have to figure out which one you have. I'm still not sure what water filter works for me. I called the support line and she not knowledgeable and only wanted to sell me a service contract after putting me on hold multiple times.

This model is OK

Mary125 3/17/2026

It does the job. There are a few things that I really don't like. When you open the freezer door, the ice maker is not easily accessible. I am older and have a hard time reaching under it when I have to turn it off. There is no arm to lift up to temporarily shut it off. There is a switch that toggles underneath for the "On" and "Off". Also, the positioning of the ice dispenser and the water dispenser on the door is ridiculous. Did the engineer ever try to get ice and then water from this design of this dispenser. My cup barely fits in the opening. I only have one mug that is the size of the opening. If I try to fill a cup with ice that is too big for the opening. I have to tilt it in order to push against the ice lever. When I do this, the edge of the cup closest to me hits the water dispenser and water flows out onto my hand and the floor. I am constantly wiping up water when I try to fill my cup or glass with ice.

It works but leaves much to be desired.

M.S. 1/8/2026

The water and ice dispenser are very messy, crushed ice goes everywhere and the water will often drip down the front of the door after use. The shelves are preset in the fridge area and will not accommodate all container sizes. The icemaker refilling and unit motor in general are quite loud. much louder than the 10+ yr old GE it replaced. The temperature in the fridge area also fluctuates alot, usually between 31 and 47 degrees when in the recommended setting. We ordered this from Lowes because we were without a unit for awhile but if I had to do it again, I'd definitely want to check the features in person before buying.

Boots 1/5/2026

I had a 24 cu ft previously and I 5hough5 I would miss the extra space. This refrigerator seems deeper and I have not missed the extra cu feet. It is brigh5 a d easy to see items. I do miss the temperature controlled crisper drawers, but this refrigerator keeps things very cold on the recommended settings. I am a little concerned that the door comes open quickly and tends to open hard on the hinges. I am trying to train myself to hold the door so it doesn't ruin the hinges.

Great Fridge

Refridgerator 12/31/2025

Nice Refrigerator, looks great in place of my white one. Recommend when you measure for height measure from across the top toward the back they measure the height by the front and there is a lip that is taller than the actual refrigerator itself . Doing this will allow a better measurement as to what can fit.

Good, but not quite good enough!

RobofridgeSacto 12/27/2025

This is a good quality refrigerator. However, at this point, cooling in the fridge area is spotty. The top freezes while the bottom stays ok. We will see how it works when we adjust the temperature. Also, the space for the water and ice dispenser in the door is much too small. There is not enough room to slide a normal-sized cup or glass under the spots where the ice and water come out. Otherwise, the ice and water work fine. While not really ideal, we will keep it and get used to having it.

Millie 12/19/2025

Lack of a slide out tray in the ice dispenser area causes water to run down the front of the door which is aggravating. The inability to adjust the trays in the frig is also a minus. This is similar to my last Whirlpool but not nearly as nice. Seems like you are scrimping on quality but charging more for the product. The frig door does not open gently, nor does it close automatically when it gets to a the normal auto close area. I have always bought Whirlpool products. but this one just doesn't meet your previous quality.

Excilent Whirpool Side by Side fridge/freezer

Whirlpool fridge/freezer 12/18/2025

Excelent Side by Side Fridge/Freezer. I love the shshiney black color. This unit has spacious interior drawers are spacious as are the shelves in he door which are interchangeable, alllowing me to decide the height between each shelf maximizing the products/food and drinks I need to fit. Since I use tons of ice cubes the ice cube drawer is exponential larger than most o other Fridges and I have 3 sizes of cubes to pick from. The negative things that I dislike : the exterior water/ice cube dispenser is a plus but the light does not stay on unless im missing something and most of my cups are taller, and dont fit so water goes all over the floor, its also hidden so I have to keep a coffee mug under there for water and ice cubes.

It's ok but so much smaller than my GE Profile that lasted 25 years without any problems until a few months ago. Because it is a lower height I could not place taller bottles on the top shelf so that eliminates a usable shelf. My old refrigerator had adjustable heights on the shelves, which is what I miss most. Additionally it does not have an egg holder in the door.

I bought our whirlpool refrigerator about a month ago and although I like some features, there are several disappointing surprises. The icemaker makes loud noises all the time. Twice I've gone to the door thinking someone had knocked on the door. We followed the temperat ure settings suggested and one quart of milk on the top shelf froze solid while others were normal. Another item on the third shelf froze. When I spoke with whirlpool they informed me that temperature controls were not covered under the warranty but she could sell me one that would cover this. I have changed the temperature setting and hope it will not be a problem.

I'm very pleased with the WHIRPOOL side by side refrigerator I purchased. It has nice bright lights and great shelving for lots of items to be stored. I really like the ice maker and filtered water system. It's a little smaller than I wanted, but it fits very nicely in my kitchen so I'm satisfied with it. I have Whirlpool washer & dryer so I'm familiar with the brand, I really appreciate that it is made in the USA. Great products.
