WARNING IF YOU WANT FLUSH INSET: even though this fridge is advertised as flush inset, you need to purchase a separate 600 dollar kit. Your cabinet maker will have a very difficult time understanding the installation. GE has stated they get a call 1-2 times a week about this issue. If you are buying this for flush inset installation, which is really the only reason to purchase this model, please explore a different Brand.

Poor quality overall, especially considering the premium branding and price. - Interior finishes are inexpensive plastic that rattle and fit poorly, particularly the door mounted pockets. - Icemaker bucket doesn't seat firmly, rattles when doors are opened. - Ice falls out the back of the bin into the freezer when full. - Makes far too little ice for a refrigerator of this size. - Refrigerator motor is noisier than our previous Whirlpool, which lasted 26+ years. There's no way this Monogram will last half that time.

DO NOT BUY. There is a manufacturing issue with the evaporator fan and they will continually burn out and create a loud buzzing in your freezer. I burned out one during warranty and now 4 years later my freezer is completely useless. They replaced a kit this time (that they have since developed since the problem happens so often) that appears to work for others but isn't working for me. My freezer is louder than ever. THis product is a lemon from the manufacturing side.

Satisfied with the Refrigerator. As this is a replacement of the same type of unit, it was annoying that the panel ready was not backward compatible. Many cabinet shops were not interested in a small job of just one appliance. Luckily, we were connected with a true craftsman that retro'd our panels to the new unit.

Not a great panel ready refrigerator

We multiple issues with this refrigerator after it was installed in our newly built home. First, we ordered panel ready and the kit didn™€™t ship until 2-3 weeks after we moved in. Once it arrived the installers couldn™€™t get the panels to close with without rubbing on the trim. The hinges on this refrigerator do not work well with panels. It™€™s a very poor design. As they were working on the fridge, they noticed condensation on the back of the refrigerator. They had to have it replaced by GE. After about 4-5 weeks we finally have a working refrigerator, but with larger than expected gaps between the panels.

This GE Monograph, side-by-side refrigerator, built-in, is a beauty. I am still waiting for my custom panels but that™€™s on me, and I do love that I have the option to customize this unit. The shelf space is fantastic. The clear glass shelving, and the ample cheese and vegetable bins are terrific. I really like the digital temperature control and the roomy door storage space. My only complaint is that the icemaker has begun to frost up and we have had the unit for only four weeks. This is too soon for this kind of activity. Also, the icemaker is extremely slow and produces exceedingly small ice cubes. I prefer my KitchenAid ice cubes from my previous refrigerator . It™€™s a little bit annoying to still rely on ice cube trays to supplement the amount of ice that comes out of this unit. I know, I know, First World problems. But for this price tag™€¦? Seriously, we can do better, can™€™t we GE? Otherwise it is a really nice quiet machine. In my next house I will not purchase a built-in unit. It is way too pricey for saving yourself 4 inches or so on the back side width of the unit. Thank you.

Doors uneven (gasket crushed) ice maker broken. I purchased 48™€ ZIS480NNFII. The freezer side door is not flush with the refrigerator side. Unit arrived with gasket crushed at the top. Tech was out to look at this issue and fix the ice maker which stopped producing ice after 2mos. The ice maker has been replaced. Doors are still uneven. My cabinet company is having a terrible time with the panels. Per their advice, I have purchased the panel ready kit ZKFN. They followed the specs directions and the panels are extremely tight and they are going to shave down 1/16™€ to hope they can adhere them.

Incredibly Poor Design

I™€™ll start off by saying as far as the mechanics of this unit we have had no problems. But I would love for Monogram to comment on how you charge 10K for a refrigerator that has panels that are quite literally tapped on. We have had a GE tech come to our house FOUR times to try and retape the inside panels of this fridge because the tape is so cheap and keeps losing its stick. Not only that, when we order a new set of panels because once they are tapped on they cannot be reused after the tape begins to fail, they have come damaged 2/3 of the times we™€™ve ordered them. We literally have parts of our 10k fridge falling off. The panels rub against each other when the doors of the fridge open and close. Now because we purchased the fridge a year ago, but had it installed only 6 months again, we are apparently out of warranty for a problem that GE has NOT solved yet despite techs being here 4 times attempting to fix the issue. Monogram. This is unacceptable. The design is unacceptable for a fridge 1/8 the cost of this one. If you are selling this refrigerator with tapped on components at least provide a tape that actually works. I™€™ll wait to hear from a representative.

Our 42" Monogram from the 90's finally bit the bullet. We liked it so we decided on this 48" updated model. I wish I could go back in time and just get a Sub-Zero. The craftsmanship is mediocre. The caulking inside the unit looks it was added like someone who has never used a caulking gun. The compressor is so noisy when it's running its hard to think. We had a tech from the store we bought it from come out and she said, "This is just how noisy they are." Okay, now what? I've never had or heard a fridge that was as annoying noisy as this one. For almost $10k this thing better not make a sound. So I'm stuck with it?

Piece of trash! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I will start by saying if I could give this appliance, and GE, a rating of zero I would. I purchased an entire suite of Monogram appliances for our kitchen renovation and it was the worse purchase I could have made! For reviews of my dishwasher and induction cooktop look under those appliances. First, the ice maker bucket was dumping ice out of the back of the bucket into the freezer. This is a known problem to GE so instead of making the ice bucket the correct size they made a plastic attachment to add to the ice bucket to keep the ice from falling out. Next, my unit quit cooling properly. The service technician found the fan blade was stuck at the top of the spindle. Another problem GE is very aware of because this same motor with this same problem has been around for years but GE won™€™t bother to correct the problem. Instead they continue to produce the same defective motor rather than taking care of the problem at the manufacturing site. Two weeks later (where I currently am) and the unit quit cooling properly again!!! The service tech found the motor completely iced over. He hasn™€™t found the problem yet because it basically requires tearing the unit down to determine what the problem is. He said it is 1 of 3 different problems but can™€™t determine the problem until it™€™s town down. I am unable to open the doors wide enough to remove drawers or shelves. My contractor/cabinetmaker contacted GE and was told that they have gotten several complaints about this (but yet they won™€™t change the specs to prevent this). My contractor also told them the screws used to hold the wooden panels in place were stripped when the unit arrived and they needed to send replacements. After 3 phone calls we still do not have screws and do not know if we will ever get them since they had to ™€œget approval from a supervisor™€. Unbelievable!!! A $10,000+ appliance and they would even question sending replacement screws?!!! They told my contractor they would be back in touch and even after 3 phones they still have not gotten an email or return call from GE. These are an absolute waste of money! It is very obvious that GE cares nothing about quality or customer service. I can say with confidence that I will never purchase another GE appliance. If I had had problems with just one appliance that might be understandable but major problems with 3 appliances and a minor problem with another tells me this is a systemic problem and not an isolated case.

Almost 5-star... but doors fit poorly?

This is our first ever GE, side-by-side, built-in frig and we're very happy with it. HOWEVER... there is a kink. We order the "panel ready" model and the where the doors meet at the top, the frig side protrudes over 1/2 an inch, which will look terrible when the cabinet-matching panels are installed. It should be mentioned that the bottom portion where the doors meet is perfect! After close examination the door sealing gaskets are noticeably different from top to bottom, which is where I think the problem is.

The inside lighting is horrible. I had to purchase polarizing film and cover the lights. The ice is literally inaccessible requiring reaching up and over the highest part of the freezer. I had to phone in for wifi password as factory did not even bother to include sticker with info.

We like the width and depth of the refrigerator; it does make items easy to see and the space is used efficiently. The refrigerator was delivered with the door out of alignment (the two top corners are not in the same plane). Additionally, the door scrapes when it opens/closes--the interior paneling that is glued on is coming loose. We have also been unable to connect the WIFI.

I bought this to replace a 17 year old Monogram refrigerator with a new version of the same model. It has had multiple issues and I am on my second service call in just over two weeks. It makes a loud mechanical noise when the defrost unit comes on, I reported it and they glued the door gasket in better, which was loose. That DID not fix the problem and now the loud sound is back. When it defrosts the freezer unit, water is building up inside the unit, which indicates it is broken. Also, the ice maker stopped working as well. This is after LESS than one year in service. I can only imagine what is going to happen with this unit after the 2 year warranty expires. I want it fixed right and I need a reliable refrigerator. This was over $12,000 installed...and should be higher quality.

Great Features & So Much Space

I love how much room there is in my new GE Monogram Refrigerator/Freezer. With four shelves that are 13" D x 24" L, there is plenty of room to prepare ahead for large gatherings. The shelves are large enough to fit a sheet cake or accommodate large trays or cookie sheets of food. I am now able to place large bottles of juice or tall wine bottles on the top shelf without any problem (you can see an example of the bottle heights in one of the pictures). The shelves are fully adjustable in both the refrigerator and freezer. There is also plenty of room in the side door compartments, even for tall & wide containers of milk and juice. Having a closed see- thru compartment on the side door for butter (and where I also keep cream cheese) makes these items easy and fast to get. The special sealed "Deli Drawer" and "Produce Drawer" help maintain the proper humidity level to keep items fresh. I like the bottom drawer with its adjustable controls for "Express Chill" and "Express Thaw" in addition to a selection of temperatures for different types of foods. I have used this drawer several times to chill beverages fast. I love that there is a "control lock" for the temperature settings since my great-grandbaby likes to push buttons. There is even lighting in the lower drawers making it so easy to see what is inside (see picture). The side freezer makes everything easy to find and reach, especially the two convenient pull-out drawers at the bottom. This is my favorite appliance in the kitchen and it makes food preparation and entertaining so much easier!

Terrible Ice dispenser and ice maker

We read the review on the ice maker before we bought as they were negative. The sles person assured us the ice maker was as good or better than our old Monogram. He lied! GE service was here last week and said they reduced the volume on the amount of ice made on this model nothing they can do. Basically you get two big glasses of ice a day and it takes 3-5 minutes to get it to dispense one cup. Ridiculous for a $10.000 refrigerator.

Bought this to replace an older version after researching other more costly brands. Gave up some features from the other brands but this is a great basic built in fridge. Glad I got the price I did from the online store. Worst was having to deal with the 5 month delay in receiving the new product from the time I ordered it™€¦..updates on that were horrible. But the new fridge is doing as expected. The old panels fit great and we™€™re a breeze to move from one to the other by myself. The one vast improvement is the LED lighting internally™€¦. Much better than the old. Also appreciate the relocation of the water filter to the area above the unit instead of being inside.

PROS - better lighting in the fresh food area, supposedly more energy efficient - we shall see since the doors don't seem to close as tightly as those on the prior model, the new model fit perfectly in the same space as the old one, luckily the old custom door panels fit on the new one, the old door handles "kind of" fit on the new model. CONS - doesn't display current actual temperatures in freezer or fresh food area so we have no idea if it's working properly, the prior model showed the actual temperatures in the freezer and the fresh food area which alerted us to the fact that the old one was failing, the icemaker sends ice cubes out the right side of the ice bin because the bin is too small, it makes smaller and fewer ice cubes per day than the prior model, it has one less climate controlled drawer/bin in the fresh food area which is a big disappointment, our prior model had a "produce bin" and a "meat bin" and a "deli bin" and we used all three all the time, the fresh food area has one less shelf than the old model, the tall shelf above the deli bin can't be moved lower because they didn't allow for adjustment slots in the brackets at the back of the fresh food area above the "deli bin" so there is one really tall shelf that makes for less space for the types of items we buy, the new model came without any handles - fortunately my husband kept the old handles from our model, it was much easier to turn on/off the icemaker in the old model - with the new one, it always changes the temperature instead of just turning the icemaker off/on, owner's manual doesn't sufficiently explain the operation of the icemaker, we can't tell if the doors have sealed completely when we close the doors because there is no suction when the doors close like on the prior model, lighting in the freezer area not as good as in the prior model, it didn't come with an egg tray like the prior model, none of the shelves in the fresh food area are as deep as the shelves in the prior model. Overall, WE MUCH PREFERRED OUR OLD MODEL!!! I guess if you didn't have an old model you might like this new model. We just found that many of the features we liked in the old model aren't in the new model. Disappointing. I guess if we could have seen one in person before we purchased the new model we would have known what to expect. Our old model only lasted about 12 years. Actually, the old one started warming on the fresh food side (up to 54 degrees) and extreme freezing on the freezer side (down to negative 14 degrees) when it was only 10 years old. We certainly hope this new one lasts a lot longer than 10 - 12 years!!

Too Small for the price

I bought this refrigerator and when installed they had to cut the top wood part in order to install it. This was an extra cost. The refrigerator had the exact measurements as my other refrigerator. The depth of this new refrigerator is not sufficient; too little room for all the vegetables to fit at the lower part.In addition, I have had GE technicians come twice to fix the stainless steel panels that cannot adhere to the refrigerator. My installer/top panel maker was also unable to fix the problem 3 times!!!! I worked with GE staff in Chicago over a month to get this problem fixed. For the amount I paid, over $10,000, I should not have to live with the refrigerator door NOISE when opened and closed.

Bad design!

Very noisy and whoever designed the ice maker should be fired. Next to impossible to reach in to get the ice unless you™€™re 6™€™ tall. Im 5™€™7™€ and Have to scoop ice out with a small cup and place in another container for use. Another problem with the ice maker is it had a hole in the collector bin and should the power go out, the ice turns to water and leaks all over everything below the bin. My shelves are now rusted from this brainiac design. Absolutely ridiculous!!

I originally thought this fridge would be too small since it is counter depth, but I love the size of it. It is a beautiful piece of cabinetry. I love all the drawers and lights. Door shelves are nice and deep and I love the freezer size. I did not want another freezer on the bottom as I find everything just gets thrown in there and I had to dig around for it. I love having everything on shelves.

This is my second 48 inch built in so after 21 years I had no hesitation re buying another and it seems to be working great. My panels need to be made slightly smaller and I am waiting for the dealer to send the appropriate person for that and to put on the handle. I am using with 2 large loops of ribbon screwed into frame. One complaint re design™€"did you have a giant design the ice maker placement. Not near as good as my unit from 1999. I am almost 5™€™5™€ and find it difficult to get to the bottom of the ice cube container.
